The Long Island-based chain Burger Village opened its latest outpost in July in the old Schnipper’s space on Church and Murray, and it has taken me this long to get a post up — even though we are big fans of the sweet tater tots and ‘shroom burgers already.
The brainchild of four brothers from Long Island: Sam, Nick, Vick and Ravi Yadav, Burger Village opened its first location in 2013 in Great Neck. They then expanded to Park Slope, Downtown Brooklyn, Hicksville, Farmingdale, and Astoria . This is their first on the left bank.

Burger Village, an eco-friendly burger place with exotic meats, is opening its second Long Island location at the Hicksville Broadway Mall on Monday, May 8.
A free burger, fries and soda will be offered to the first 100 customers during Burger Village’s Grand Opening event. The store will open its doors at 11 a.m. Free fries will come with the purchase of any meal and customers will be offered free non-GMO popcorn while waiting for their food to arrive. Burger Village serves organic and exotic meats, including beef, bison, turkey, elk, boar, chicken, lamb and ostrich. The 1,800-square-foot location also offers vegan options, gluten free options, specialty salads, hand-cut fries, organic juice and milk, organic shakes and a full kids menu. “Burger Village will offer our guests delicious specialty burgers made with organic and exotic meats, a combination previously unavailable in the Hicksville area,” John Rossi, General Manager of Broadway, said in a press release. “We are delighted they chose to expand their concept with healthy options here.”
Burger Village is owned by Long Island brothers Sam, Nick, Vick and Ravi Yadav. They opened their first location in Great Neck in 2013, a second location in Park Slope in 2014 and now a third location in Hicksville in 2017. Burger Village is eco-friendly. It uses biodegradable to-go containers, cups, napkins and straws made from plant material. The walls of Burger Village are made with reclaimed wood and all of the meat served is organic, all-natural, grass-fed, pasture-raised, cage-free, antibiotic-free and hormone-free. The kitchen is also peanut-free.
“We’ve always considered this a great community and are looking forward to serving our delicious dishes to the families on Long Island,” the Yadav Brothers, owners of Burger Village, said. “It’s important to us to keep in mind the busy lifestyles of our guests and their desire to eat healthy, plus try something exotic like our elk, bison or boar burgers.”
